Cinema audiences are eagerly anticipating the summer 2026 season, which will see the release of a number of major new films. The lineup features a wide variety of genres, including action, drama, and comedy, heightening excitement in movie theaters.
The film “Assad” revolves around the character of Ali ibn Muhammad al-Farsi, who leads a slave rebellion during the Abbasid era—an uprising that lasted for many years in defiance of oppression. The film is written and directed by Mohamed Diab, in what is considered one of the most highly anticipated projects.
Another standout is “7 Dogs,” starring Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz. The film is among the most awaited releases, telling the story of a dangerous mission that brings together a group of professionals to confront an international criminal network. The cast also includes global stars such as Monica Bellucci and Salman Khan, in addition to several special guest appearances.
In the realm of social comedy, the film “Ibn Meen Fehom” (Which One Is His Son?) stars Laila Eloui and Bayoumi Fouad. It explores the theme of multiple marriages and the comedic situations and family crises that arise from them, particularly those involving children and the complexities of overlapping family relationships.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Dawood is set to participate in the Eid season with the film “Ithma,” a social drama that follows a young man who receives a mysterious gift that turns his life upside down, sending him on a journey of self-discovery and a deep reassessment of his past.
It appears that the Eid al-Adha 2026 season will witness strong competition among these films, with a clear diversity in stories and cinematic styles, making it one of the most highly anticipated box office seasons.
