Israeli occupation army struck Beirut's southern suburbs, in a blatant Israeli escalation in Lebanon, despite a US-brokered ceasefire deal announced last week.

Following the attack, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military had carried out strikes on what it claimed were "Hezbollah facilities" in Beirut's southern suburbs, acting on instructions from Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz.

The National News Agency correspondent reported that the strike targeted two apartments in two buildings in the Haret Hreik area toward Marjayoun, near Al-Hashim station, with reports of injuries.

In a related development, Walla reported, citing sources, that the Israeli occupation army has begun carrying out ground operations on the outskirts of the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh.
